I joined Leduc Karate-Do in 1990, at the time the club was under the leadership of Sensei Steve Vrabel. Following Sensei Vrabel’s move to California, in 1992, Sensei Chris Eckert became the head instructor in Leduc. I continued to train under Sensei Eckert and I earned my red belt in May 1997. In 1999, after turning 18, I graded for and earned my black belt (Shodan- 1st degree).
Life became busy, I got married when I was 20 and had a very busy career which pulled me away from karate in the early 2000s. In 2018, my son joined karate and I was inspired to return. I trained at home during the 2018 season and joined Beaumont Karate-Do in 2019. Both my children now train in Beaumont and we enjoy participating as a family together.
